DIY Halloween Costumes You Need in Your Life!

It's September, which means it's officially acceptable to start talking about Halloween. Many of us are already trawling the internet, searching for this year's costume inspiration. Others won't give it a second thought until the day before and will suddenly find themselves frantically searching Pinterest for something that can be thrown together in 30 minutes or less.

Regardless of which camp you fall into, I have a bunch of Halloween costume ideas that are quick, simple and, most importantly, super cute! You're welcome!

Unicorn

You know what they say. Always be yourself. Unless you can be a unicorn, then always be a unicorn! And Halloween is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Light up sparkle tutu - £12.99 Smiffys
White top - £3.99 New Look
Unicorn horn - £10 ASOS
Shoes - £33.75 Debenhams
Face and body glitter - £5.50 Boots

Cher from Clueless

Clueless is one of my favourite films of all time and the reason I still, as a twenty five year old grown up, use the phrase "he's way famous". If I was blonde I'd totally be Cher Horowitz for Halloween...every year. But, alas, I'm not so I'm totally buggin'.

Skirt - £10.84 eBay
T-shirt - £7.99 New Look
Cardigan - £9.00 eBay
Socks - £2.10 Amazon
Shoes - £20 Boohoo
Fluffy pen - £2.99 Me to You

Regina George

Sticking with the chick flick theme, I know I included Regina George in my previous DIY costume post, but it's such a good one I had to include it again this year. Super simple, super quick, super sassy. All you need is a purple bra and a white vest with a couple of strategically placed snips in it, a black skirts and some cute heels and viola! And who care if your bra is showing? If Mean Girls taught us anything it's that Halloween is the one night of the year you can dress like a total slut and no one can say anything.

Bra - £20 Simply Be
Vest - £3.99 H&M
Skirt - £7.99 H&M
Shoes - £19.99 New Look

Cat

There's a reason the cat costume is a Halloween staple. It's quick and easy to put together, looks super chic (even with the ears) and nobody looks bad in black!

Bralet - £6.00 Boohoo
Skirt - £10.00 Boohoo
Shoes - £24.99 New Look
Ears - £6.00 Accessorise
Tights - £6.99 Party Delights

Sandy from Grease

Another iconic movie heroine with an equally iconic outfit. Who doesn't love that moment at the end of Grease when Sandy rocks up in a sea of ridiculously tight-fitting leather? I heard Olivia Newton John had to be physically sewn into that outfit and had to monitor her water intake all day because she couldn't get back out of it to pee. You won't have to worry about that with the costume I've put together.

Leggings - £14.99 H&M
Top - £22.00 Jane Norman
Belt - £5.00 Peacocks
Shoes - £19.99 New Look
Earrings - £3.99 New Look

Britney Spears

I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a hardcore Britney fan (I am, after all, a 90s kid). Love her or hate her, she was a big name back in the day and her famous Hit Me Baby One More Time outfit is simple to replicate, adorable and, at this point, pretty much qualifies as an historical costume.

Skirt - £29.00 Topshop
Shirt - £12.50 Marks and Spencer
Vest Top - £6.00 Topshop
Socks - £3.99 H&M
Scrunchies - £3.00 each Etsy
Shoes - £24.99 New Look

Hermione Granger

Or, if you want your Halloween costume to be a bit more...Halloween-y, simply switch out the fluffy pigtails for a tie and a wand and viola! You've got yourself a Hogwarts uniform!

Skirt - £29.00 Topshop
Shirt - £12.50 Marks and Spencer
Socks - £3.99 H&M
Shoes - £24.99 New Look
Tie - £1.25 eBay
Wand - £5.61 Amazon
